Initial Evaluation
Your Initial Evaluation is a comprehensive diagnostic and with an emphasis on you, as a whole person, and with your goals in mind.
My goal is to help you find solutions to those symptoms that have been nagging at you, that haven't yet resolved, or that are keeping you from enjoying your life.
I help you develop your "healing team" and am happy to work with your other team members as we focus on getting you back into your life again.

Physical Therapy Follow-Up Appointments
Follow-up appointments help you move through your healing period.
In our fast-paced lifestyles, we tend to forget that the body does not heal at a faster rate; it heals at its own speed but can move more quickly through its processes as the barriers to healing are identified and addressed.
What the body needs to move forward will change frequently, and your follow up appointments need to change as your body does. Each treatment is tailored to what your body needs each particular day, on your individual healing time line.

Pelvic Floor Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a light and gentle technique that works with the nervous system. Developed in the 1970's by osteopath John Upleger, D.O. at Michigan State University, it is an excellent way to decrease injury-related anxiety/depression, decrease the physical and/or emotional stress on the body, increase spinal and joint motion, while decreasing overall pain.
It is a hands-on, non-invasive, gentle technique that addresses restrictions in the joints, the connective tissues, and the nerves of the body.
I began adding craniosacral and visceral therapy techniques to my physical therapy practice in 2002. Combining the craniosacral and visceral therapy techniques to my original orthopedic techniques was a 'game changer' for my practice. My patients report feeling better faster and reports being able to do more than they were before the 'combo treatments'.
Patients often ask me if the treatment is doing anything since it is so gentle, by the end of the session, the patient is often surprised by how different they feel, reporting feeling lighter, more grounded, with less pain, and greater ease of movement.
I recommend patients plan on a restful few hours following their craniosacral therapy appointment to allow the body to relax into their "new normal" , to allow the body to integrate the new changes, and to get the best benefit out of the treatment. This is particularly important for those just starting their treatments.
